Wireless routers and USB adapters are standard network equipment, but they serve original purposes. To fully understand their respective use, it is best to have a necessary foundation for essential work.
The most basic way to connect the computer to the Internet is to plug it directly into the modem, which in turn is connected to the DSL-signal or line source, for example. Connect several computers to the same Internet service provider (ISP); we need a router.
Some computers can connect to this router, allowing them to talk to each other (forming a local area network, or LAN) and share one modem connected to the ISP. Because the router stands between LANs and connections to the Internet, they also have security applications.
Like a cable router, we connect the wireless router to the Internet via a modem and allows multiple computers to share signals. The difference is that the computer does not need to be connected to a wireless router using a telephone cable – the router communicates with the local network through a radio frequency signal called Wi-Fi.
This allows computers on the network to be moved and for the authorized computer not on the network to connect to the network quickly and with no cables.
We connect the wireless adapter to one computer to allow computers to communicate with wireless networks. The adapter transmits and receives data on the frequency of Wi-Fi and can connect the computer to any wireless network in the area (provided the user knows the network security key if any).
Many newer computers have a wireless adapter that is built-in it directly. On a laptop computer, an external wireless adapter often comes as a laptop card, which is connected to a computer card reader; On the desktop, they may be a circuit board that must be plugged into the PCI slot on a computer such as graphics or audio cards or more frequent-USB adapters.

USB wireless adapters are generally small devices connected to one of the computer USB ports. (They are often called “dongles” -a generic name for each small plug-and-play hardware.) The adapter is very popular on desktop computers, where they are much easier to install, delete, and solve problems than PCI adapters, despite the size. Their small and lack of external antennas can make them less reliable in taking weaker Wi-Fi signals, and the user that the computer does not have many USB ports can lie to give one.
How to use all this
To set up a wireless network in your home, you will need three different hardware: modem, wireless router, and wireless adapter for each computer on the network. Router and adapter are very different. The adapter requires minimal setting time (especially the USB adapter, designed to work as soon as you enter it). In contrast, router settings require a fair amount of technical work, especially for network security.
